Product Review: Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion

August 3rd, 2008

Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Packaging: 4 out of 5 stars
Price: $18 @ http://www.skinmdnatural.com

Ingredients: Purified Water (Aqua), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract (Aloe Vera), Cylopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Methyl Gluceth-20, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Extracts of Arnica Montana Flower (Arnica), Symphytum Officinale Leaf (Comfrey), Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria Chamomile), Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow), Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, 1,2 Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Aminomethyl Propanol, Phenoxyethanol (preservative).

What it does: Promptly absorbs, transforming the outer layer of skin into a hydrating invisible shield; regeneration is fully realized within a few days.

Directions: Apply small amount, initially every 2-8 hours until moisturize level improves, then just once every 12-24 hours.

PROS: As soon as I applied the lotion on my foot, I was amazed! My foot had color in them compared to my other foot, which looked very dry and ashy (I will not post any photos since you’ll be grossed out). The lotion works great as a primer under my makeup, which gives it a smooth canvas, and lasts all day. It also leaves my skin feeling smooth and doesn’t have a bad smell.

CONS: It’s pretty pricey for a small bottle. It doesn’t really soften my skin, but smooths it out. I like lotions that do it both at the same time. It only works for my feet, neither my whole body nor face. It seems that I have to always apply my Aveeno Daily Moisturizing lotion under before I apply the Skin MD Naturals. I have also tried it by itself, but I don’t like how it feels on my skin. I just need the feeling of softness so that it doesn’t feel dry, even though it’s not, it’s just smooth.

Mini CCO Haul!

July 11th, 2008

I went to the CCO at the Las Americas Outlet and only bought two items ): I wish I could’ve bought more, but I’m trying not to spend a lot since I won’t have money for food. Why? Well, my stepmom is mean and selfish. That’s all I have to say. Anyway I bought the MAC e/s in “Coppering” and “Fertile.” “Coppering” is a coppery reddish color, which is permanent, whereas “Fertile” is a dark purple color, which is discontinued. I could’ve just bought the Novel Twist “Cool Eyes” palette, which I saw on one of Adriyah’s YouTube videos. But I didn’t watch her videos until after I went to the outlet ): It’s okay though. I’m going to get it when I get back to Virginia, save up money, and go to the nearest CCO because I know for sure that one has that palette.
